We are seeking an Associate Underwriter to join AmeriHealth New Jersey, where you will play a key role in supporting underwriting operations through analytical expertise, attention to detail, and effective time management in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight timeframes.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, as well as the ability to recognize, research, and resolve discrepancies, are required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, skilled in problem-solving, and mathematical at an algebraic level.
  • Exhibits a prescribed level of proficiency across all competencies as defined in the Underwriting Competency Model. In addition, each role within Underwriting has five specific competencies that are weighted heavily in the evaluation of performance.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products (Access, Word, and Excel)

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of experience working in an insurance environment or a strong financial/mathematical background required.

AmeriHealth New Jersey has implemented a “Hybrid” model, which provides our associates with the ability to work in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania

Salary Range:

Minimum $43,800 – Maximum $73,000
