Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated current law student to join our Legal Internship Program. This paid opportunity offers hands-on experience within a collaborative, in-house legal department supporting a leading health insurance organization. The program is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the practice of law in a corporate setting and the opportunity to contribute to key business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Legal intern, you may:
· Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on developments in health care insurance law, as well as broader legal topics impacting the business.
· Monitor and analyze federal and state legislation and regulatory guidance, preparing summaries and reports for attorneys and business stakeholders.
· Assist in preparation of presentations and briefing materials for senior leadership on current legal, regulatory, and compliance issues.
· Support attorneys on a variety of day-to-day legal matters and cross-functional projects aligned with corporate priorities
· Collaborate with internal teams to help translate legal requirements into practical business guidance
· Gain experience across a range of in-house practice areas, including litigation and dispute management, employment law, provider contracting and vendor agreement, corporate transactions and governance matters, regulatory compliance and oversight (federal and state health insurance requirements), and other general corporate legal and operational matters.
· Participate in informal and structured mentorship opportunities, including one-on-one check-ins, project-based coaching, and career discussions.
· Gain exposure to different legal career paths and develop practical skills essential for success as an in-house attorney.
Qualifications
· Currently enrolled in an accredited law school, with completion of two years of study by the start of the internship (rising 3L).
· Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
· Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple assignments.
· Interest in health care, insurance regulations, or corporate law, preferred.
Program Dates
- Program Start Date: May 31, 2027
- Program Completion Date: August 6, 2027
Work Hours
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (37.5 hours per week)
