Government Markets is hiring a Business Analyst (BA) to join its Medicare Supplemental Program Team.  This professional will be responsible for analyzing risk profiles for IBC’s Medicare products to assess risk, opportunities and potential impacts to reimbursement level for our Medicare risk adjustment programs.  Using tools including SQL Server, SAS and Tableau, the Business Analyst will develop clear business specifications, troubleshoot and recommend solutions to improve the quality of management reporting for the Medicare Supplemental Programs Team.  The Business Analyst will also participate in various corporate wide projects that will drive system initiatives and database projects. Advanced analytical technical and problem solving skills.  Ability to persuade, negotiate and resolve issues.  Ability to define complex business issues and determine "best fit" solutions.

  • Work with management in defining business requirements to address operational goals for Medicare Supplemental  Programs.
  • Work with management in the process of formulating and defining systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
  • Oversight of prospective and/or retrospective programs.
  • Develop and facilitate program metrics, tools and reporting.
  • Evaluate systems solutions and process automation.
  • Meet with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status.
  • Work with internal and external customers to resolve issues.
  • Assist with provider incentive payment process.
  • Support program operating budgets and related finance / billing functions.
  • Ensure timely contract renewals and RFP process when necessary.
  • Responsible for provider and member marketing materials communications from draft, approval to distribution.
  • Statistical Analysis/benchmarking
  • Perform specific duties of the BA as required.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Science, Business, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience analyzing large datasets, demonstrable technical experience and data management skills including data development, data extraction, transformation, QA, and sophisticated analytical technical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Tableau or other data visualization software programs preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Visio)
  • Program or Project Management experience
  • Experience dealing with internal and external customers
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills required
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of SQL Data Tools (SSIS, SSRS)
  • Knowledge of SQL/SAS/R programing skills with emphasis in large datasets
