Lead Application Developer (PeopleSoft) - Hybrid (PA/NJ/DE)

SUMMARY
Responsible for providing business and systems support to application users for PeopleSoft products. Designs, develops, tests, and implements the application image updates, fixes and enhancements. Works with the business areas to identify needs and makes recommendations for system and business process changes. Leverages system expertise to train client areas on the usage of the application and best practices. Provides guidance to the other developers as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical and functional support for PeopleSoft HCM, Financial, and Supply Chain modules. Partners with PeopleSoft System Administrator to perform PeopleTools upgrades, application image updates, and tax updates. Implements new functionality and business areas on all PeopleSoft modules as needed. Designs and configures automated system approvals using PeopleSoft Approval Workflow Engine. Creates business process improvements and issue resolutions using module experience and strong development and coding skills.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Project Management
· Demonstrates fundamental understanding of project management and the use of project management tools and tracking
· Demonstrates ability to direct staff through the lifecycle of a project, including prioritizing tasks and monitoring performance
· Develop conversion or implementation plans
· Estimate level of effort involved in proposed system changes
Design
· Research delivered system functionality and compare to business area request
· Develop/design system solution based on business area requirements
· Identify design constraints, impacts, and integration points
· Provide guidance in design changes, modifications, and enhancements to program features
· Participate in database design and implementation
Development
· Identify/solve technical problems applying established data processing techniques
· Demonstrates proficiency in Application Engine, SQR/SQL, PeopleCode, Integration Broker and other PeopleTools
· Demonstrates proficiency in setup, customization, and administration of Approval Workflow Engine
· Perform coding as required
· Create and maintain all aspects of documentation relating to assigned system development task
Analysis
· Develop testing plan and coordinate business area testing
· Perform and manage integration testing
· Evaluate system performance
· Identify and resolve discrepancies, problems, and weaknesses in the system
· Identify and integrate supporting analysis to define all aspects of system development
Technical
· Perform evaluation of upgrade compare reports. Perform reapplication of necessary system customizations to internal and external objects
· Keep abreast of major technical changes impacting IBC/Human Resources/Payroll/Finance /IT/PeopleSoft by reading trade publications, OJT, seminars, courses, associations, etc.
· Ensure documentation of system & programs is current and accurate; maintain and revise as required to reflect current system & program status
· Coordinate activities between business areas, distributed systems areas, application support areas and database administration areas (PeopleSoft Developers, PeopleSoft Administrators, IT, DBAs, HR/Payroll Users)
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
· An undergraduate degree, preferably in Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration or Mathematics, is required. Equivalent position-related experience may be considered.
· A minimum of (2) two years of experience in a Senior Application Developer position.
· A minimum of (3-4) three to four years as a PeopleSoft Developer is required.
· Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills as well as possess effective presentation skills.
· Experience supporting PeopleSoft Human Capital Management preferred.
Hybrid
Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
