This Learning Consultant role is responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive integrated learning strategy for the enterprise. This role identifies current and leading-edge workplace learning best practices, trends, and infrastructure options, and builds a strategy that fosters a culture of continuous learning. This role also advances the professional practice of learning and supports the development of learning professionals across the enterprise through direct teaching, coaching, and consulting activities.

Learning strategy

  • Define, create, manage, and maintain a functional learning strategy that drives and enhances organizational capabilities.
  • Ensure learning strategy integration with the entire employment lifecycle, including but not limited to: performance management, leadership development, succession management, competency frameworks, talent strategies, and career development.
  • Ensure alignment between learning strategy and curriculum architecture.
  • Develop and execute detailed plans to deploy elements of the strategy.
  • Lead the development and implementation of scalable learning best practices and approaches for learning solutions and programs.
  • Lead the effort to integrate new business processes where necessary for learning portfolio success.
  • Collaborate with HR and learning governance bodies as required to ensure the application of best practices and processes for a consistent approach to learning.
  • Engage in cross functional-collaboration and consulting with key business partners.
  • Coach complex strategic learning and development initiatives.

Professional development

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for learning; maintain current industry information, including new thinking and new approaches.
  •   Coach and mentor on performance consulting, adult learning, instructional design, learning delivery, and evaluation.
  •   Lead innovation initiatives in learning and development.

Evaluation and measurement

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions in supporting business outcomes.
  • Create and implement a measurement plan for key elements of the learning strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Business, or Human Resources; Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years in a variety of workplace learning roles designing and delivering a wide array of learning solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design methodology and best practices, adult learning theory, and organizational behavior.
  • Demonstrated experience at translating business needs to sound instructional strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Extensive project management experience and expertise.
