Responsibilities: 

  • Is recognized as an external thought leader within strategic function or discipline.  Has broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories, techniques and/or technologies within own function or discipline. 
  • Build solution within Enterprise Information Management department’s architecture and framework for data ingestion and extracts.
  • Supports the standards and conventions set by Data Architecture and Data Governance teams in the BTS Enterprise Information Management team and design and implement architecturally compliant applications.
  • Participates in the development of the product or business strategy. 
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications (cloud and/or in-house).
  • Serve as technical expert on development projects. Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
  • Determine opportunities to redesign business processes to achieve better business results and automate business processes and functions.
  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
  • Analyze code to find causes of errors, revise programs as needed and coordinate issues resolution activities with varied stakeholders.
  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between Divisions/Functions and IT on projects and enhancements and drive technical validity of solution.
  • Collect and evaluate information, formulate as well as test hypothesis.
  • Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
  • Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. 
  • Leads multidisciplinary projects or initiatives. 
  • Participate in data strategy and road map exercises, business intelligence/data warehouse product selection, design, and implementation.
  • Holistically design solutions in a complex environment by considering the impact on entire landscape in the design sustainable for the long term

Qualifications - External

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in data mart and data warehouse environments
  • Strong experience in multiple subject areas like Provider, Medical/Pharmacy Claims, Membership etc. related to Health Insurance
  • Development and project management experience implementing analytic applications including all phases of system development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Solid experience in DART architecture and framework for data ingestion and extracts
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data and how it is being used by business for analytical and operational purposes.
  • Excellent experience preferred in the following areas:
      • ETL or ELT design and development
      • Analytic applications
  • Strong solutions design experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred experience: 

  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.

Hybrid

Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
