We’re an in-house creative team tasked with developing…well, pretty much everything creative at Independence Blue Cross! From marketing materials and direct mail postcards to high-end event collateral and custom packaging, we do it all. And, now, we’re adding a Senior Print Production Specialist to help us stay ahead of the curve.

As a member of our production team, the Senior Print Production Specialist is responsible for managing print production and mailing of all projects produced in Creative Services. You’ll purchase print and mail fulfillment services, research print trends, evaluate suppliers, and collaborate with design and project management teams, internal business partners and external suppliers throughout the process.

About the Job:

  • Coordinates and manages print production and mailings for Creative Services projects.
  • Drafts print and mail specifications; conducts request for quotes; evaluates and awards projects based on best pricing, specialty or schedule.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external suppliers to ensure quality, deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Researches new technologies and trends in commercial printing and manufacturing and presents to design team. Owns vendor relationships and is the subject matter expert in graphic design production substrates.
  • Preflights and uploads artwork, reviews color proofs and bluelines and supervises each phase of the production process through delivery.
  • Assesses data for accuracy and preps for release; coordinates approvals with business partners and oversees progress through completion of mailing.
  • Monitors schedules and reports on production status.
  • Complies with the organization’s purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Creates bid summaries, requisitions, and purchase orders; processes invoices and tracks payments.

About you:

  • Five years of production experience working in an advertising agency, in-house creative department or commercial printer.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and digital print technologies, direct mail, USPS regulations and vendor management.
  • Experience negotiating pricing and production timelines.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and must possess strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of prepress process including Adobe Creative suite.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Catalyst, People Soft, and workflow management software.
  • Must have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail and experience excelling in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates in a team setting.
