Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.

·        Life and health insurance license preferred.

·        Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts, underwriting, rating techniques and basic risk evaluation is required.

·        Experience working in a sales or marketing organization responsible for the self-funded large group market specifically Stop-Loss and other Ancillary products with an understanding of total cost of care.

·        Minimum 8 years’ related work experience in health insurance or related industry, to include Stop-Loss, MGUs, underwriting, outside sales performance, preferable in the insurance business including health, managed care products, concierge / navigation services, life, and disability.

·        Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in group insurance environment and 2+ years’ experience working in underwriting environment.  Can be concurrent experience.

·        Demonstrated history in establishing near-longer term strategic goals with proven history of achievement or exceeding of goals.

·        Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed environment and a record of building strong relationships across internal / external stakeholders.

·        Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented as well as above average problem solving, and analytical skills required.

·        Excellent negotiation, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills required.

·        Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate presentations.

·        Strong strategic and analytical skills to include critical thinking as well as problem solving.

·        Must be detail oriented, skilled in problem solving, mathematics and algebraic concepts and advanced understanding of rating techniques.

·        Knowledge of health insurance and ancillary products, services, and administration required, as is a broad understanding of health insurance funding and rating methodologies.

·        Demonstrated ability to function in a high-volume, highly visible, deadline-oriented environment is essential. Flexibility in a variety of settings and ability to work under pressure.

·        Demonstrated ability to manage multiple/evolving projects and customer expectations to a successful conclusion is essential.

·        Demonstrated experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·        Travels 50% regional.
