The Actuarial Data Integrity Manager ensures actuarial teams have access to accurate, well‑controlled, and operationally efficient data assets that directly support financial performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision‑making. This role strengthens the connection between actuarial analytics and business outcomes by improving data quality, standardizing processes, automating workflows, and overseeing reliable production execution of actuarial data pipelines and reports.
The ideal candidate combines technical aptitude with strong business acumen—understanding how data flows into financial results, operational metrics, and enterprise strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Integrity
- Represent the actuarial organization in corporate data governance initiatives to establish and maintain data governance standards to ensure actuarial data supports accurate reserving, forecasting, pricing, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with business partners across the organization including Product, Operations, Finance and Enterprise Data to ensure data inputs reflect real‑world operational and product changes.
- Translate complex data or production issues into clear business‑focused communication for senior stakeholders.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation across claims, membership, provider, financial, and operational sources.
- Investigate anomalies with an understanding of their impact on reserves, forecasts, trend analysis, and executive decision‑making.
- Strengthen data controls for pipelines used in actuarial models, CMS reporting, DOI filings, and internal management reporting.
Production Operations & Automation
- Own the recurring production execution of actuarial data processes, including monthly and annual runs.
- Partner BTS / EIM to develop automated workflows that reduce manual effort, eliminate inconsistencies, and accelerate delivery of business‑critical insights.
- Support Corporate and/or financial projects with direct impacts to Actuarial reserving, forecasting, pricing, and financial reporting.
- Monitor automated pipelines and scheduled processes, quickly resolving failures or data quality issues to protect business timelines.
- Maintain production readiness by implementing version control, change‑management procedures, and continuous improvement of scripts and workflows.
- Partner with actuarial leadership to prioritize production workload during peak cycles (month‑end, quarter‑end, rate filings, etc.).
- Proactively communicate risks, delays, system issues, or data defects to business stakeholders.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Understanding of data governance frameworks, production controls, and enterprise data management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect data requirements to business needs in a health insurance or financial environment.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in informatics, actuarial or data management.
- Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming/automation tools (Python, R, Power Automate, Alteryx, etc.).
- Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
- Demonstrated experience working in a production processes environment.
Preferred
- Experience in health insurance, actuarial analysis, or healthcare financial operations.
- Familiarity with actuarial concepts such as IBNR, trend analysis, forecasting, and rate development.
- Experience with BI or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, AWS).
- Progress toward actuarial exams is a plus but not required.
