Business Analyst
Independence is hiring a Business Analyst to oversee a provider-facing application in our Medicare Advantage and ACA area that supports primary care providers with care coordination. They are responsible for understanding all aspects of the business unit including workflow, processes, related systems and work procedures. The Analyst must be able to develop business requirements, apply business solutions, track progress of development, and support testing and validation of database and user interface changes. They have the ability to work with technical staff in assessing root causes and identifying system functions that interfere with work processes. The Business Analyst acts as a business consultant and partner with internal and external departments to maintain workflow controls and consistency by providing inquiry support to users, researching and answering technical or functional questions, and tracking bugs to completion.
Responsibilities:
Have a deep understanding of business needs, application functionality, and underlying data processes.
Build strong relationships to serve as the point of contact for IT developers, business stakeholders, and clinical end users.
Initiate preliminary business requirements, assess needs and implement appropriate solutions.
Perform testing of new capabilities and bug fixes in both SQL and the application.
Evaluate business processes by tracking, trending and analyzing work processes. Trouble-shoot and identify root causes and recommend solutions to manager.
Research incident tickets and email inquiries, answer program and application functionality questions, and identify application defects and data issues. Track timely resolution by IT development team.
Participate in daily scrum meetings and bi-weekly sprint planning sessions to ensure technical partners are progressing towards sprint goals and development is on track.
Train new users in the provider community to ensure effective knowledge transfer of application functionality and program requirements.
Develop work procedure manuals and make updates as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred or equivalent external experience.
Minimum 3-4 years proven working experience in a business unit necessary.
Must have demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a multi-task environment with effective time management and project management skills.
Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite and SQL Data Tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and customer service skills to support both web developers and clinical end users.
Must have in-depth understanding of the business environment.
Must have thorough technical knowledge of the unit's business systems.
Must be detail oriented and understand corporate objectives. Ability to follow through project life cycle.
Work independently on projects, identify and implement business solutions with minimal supervision.
