College Co-op Student Job Description:
The Cash Application co-op student will:
· Use established procedures to correctly identify premium and non-premium payments into the corresponding systems.
· Gain an understanding of how daily deliverables impact internal and external business partners as well as the overall customer experience.
· Research and complete inquiries in accordance with internal SLAs.
· Have an awareness of expected outcomes of daily deliverables and proactive resolution of exceptions.
· Identify efficiencies within core deliverables to minimize process gaps.
· Be assigned recurring job responsibilities as well as ad-hoc projects and tasks. Recurring projects will be assigned across the Cash Application team and the Disbursements team. The possibility of random projects from both departments also exists.
The co-op student will have responsibility for the following deliverables:
· Using established procedures to correctly identify and input premium & non-premium payments into the corresponding systems
· Transmit checks via Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) and/or Virtual Lockbox depending on payment type
· Ensure timely research and application of payments generated on daily exception report in alignment with peak and off-peak periods (i.e., Open Enrollment)
· Daily retrieval and review of bank statement to identify ACH/Wires remitted to be applied within the AR system
· Research and resolve inquiries in accordance with internal SLAs
· Keying of AHA provider overpayment refund checks into the AHA Refund Database
· Suggest, develop, and implement efficiencies across various workflows
· Identify process gaps associated with key deliverables
Projects will be assigned as needed
Qualifications:
Strong problem solving/analytical skills
Effective communication with the ability to collaborate with management and above
Ability to manage competing priorities which are deadline driven.
Preferred Majors:
Business, Finance, or Accounting
Preferred Classification:
Sophomore or above
Preferred GPA:
3.0+
