Job Summary

The Lead Self-Funded Billing Analyst is responsible for understanding all aspects of Self Funded Billing & Collections, Cash Application, and Finance Business and Systems Support, including workflow, processes, related systems and work procedures.

  • Must be able to identify customer focused process improvement opportunities, system inconsistencies, assess root cause issues, apply business solutions and facilitate training opportunities.
  • Must be able to work with technical staff in identifying system functions that support work processes.
  • Acts as a business consultant and partner with internal and external customers to maintain workflow controls and consistency.
  • Provides both internal and external customers with month end reporting and variance analysis, self funded settlements and any ad-hoc reporting upon request.
  • Assists with accounts receivable delinquency process, reconciliation of receivables, and escalations.
  • Consults with management regarding business solutions to streamline processes and reduce adverse impact to customers.
  • Proactively works on issue resolution with internal departments including but not limited to accounting, underwriting, account management, and product management.
  • Oversees the design, development and implementation of complex business needs and has overall project management responsibilities.
  • Provides leadership for billing and customer account analysis and billing related, corporate-wide initiatives.

Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field and Audit, Compliance and Training experience in a Healthcare/Insurance Industry is strongly preferred.

  • In lieu of degree, minimum of 5 years working within a Billing, Finance, or Operations Department.
  • Demonstrated ability to define complex business issues and determine “best fit” solutions. Demonstrated effective project management skills necessary.
  • Proven experience assessing regulations and required controls and incorporating what is required into the specifications and/or documentation
  • Proven knowledge of process flows, regulatory impacts and timelines to ensure requirements, testing and implementation are in compliance across operational disciplines.
  • Proven ability to compile detailed reporting and data mining to support business needs.
  • Proficient in trend analysis and communicating as the liaison with business partners on findings and recommendations focused on minimizing impacts to other areas and the customer.
  • Proven ability to participate in departmental knowledge transfer activities and facilitating/delivering training and cross-training opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of Web based applications, including PeopleSoft preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
