Lead Billing Analyst
Job Summary:
A successful candidate in this role will exhibit high proficiency in taking initiative, attention to detail, communication (verbal and written communication), process orientation, financial systems knowledge, teamwork and accountability. In addition, the lead Billing Analyst should lead by example at all times.
Ø Specific Duties
· Review and correct a wide variety of invoices while ensuring accuracy, timely released and mailing.
· Prepare and present monthly staff meetings
· Review billing process and trends to ensure the output of the processes are meeting agreed upon service level agreements.
· Be the point associate for all things Billing and Inquiries related internally and externally.
· The Lead will measure and identify business improvement opportunities.
· This position works with both vendors and other business partners internally and externally.
· Participate and lead meetings to discuss change requests in the Billing system.
· Oversee the overall QA process to ensure accuracy and coaching is being conducted accordingly.
· Responsible for performing the invoicing, reconciling and maintenance of customer accounts.
· Handles complex customer accounts, conduct analysis, makes recommendations to management.
· Work with internal and external auditors.
· Oversee training new team members on their duties and responsibilities as assigned.
· Effectively resolve any issue as directed by management.
· Identify, track, report trends and escalate issues to appropriate levels of management.
· May perform other duties as required by management.
Ø Knowledge Summary
· Expert understanding of Billing, Finance, and Operations within the Healthcare industry.
· Ability to think critically and resolve problems.
· Ability to coach and influence cross functional associates both internally and externally.
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to succeed in a high paced environment.
· Ability to participate in change management initiatives.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
· Good presentation skills required.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize activities.
Ø Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
· Minimum 5 years working within a Billing, Finance, or Operations Department.
· Billing experience in a Healthcare Industry preferred.
