Knowledge and skill requirements

  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to build credibility and influence others; capable of building positive relationships and forming strategic partnerships with a variety of individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to influence, educate, and gain support of senior leaders for leadership development, the role leaders play in developing other leaders, and the activities needed to support effective leadership development.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and storytelling skills; must be capable of communicating information to diverse audiences in a hybrid environment
  • Highly developed analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving, strategic thinking, influencing, and negotiating skills, as well as the ability to identify the root cause of a performance problem.
  • Solid understanding of talent metrics and ability to analyze data to provide insights regarding leadership needs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design methodology (ADDIE), adult learning theory, and organizational behavior.
  • Strong relationship management, consulting, influencing and contracting skills; getting results with and through others.
  • Deep health insurance business and industry knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
  • Ability to create, deliver, and measure high-quality, high-impact presentations, facilitator tools, training materials, etc.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to document and communicate project plans, monitor work in progress, and achieve project milestones/end results.

Experience and education guidelines

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Training and Development, Business, or Human Resources; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Approximately 10+ years in L&D, OD, HR, Talent Management, Coaching, Consulting, or related field, or broad-based HR experience in a leadership role.
  • 5-10 years' experience in designing and managing leadership and/or executive development programs and facilitating executive-level meetings.

 

  • Independence has implemented a “Hybrid of Choice” model which provides our associates with the flexibility to choose whether to work remotely, work in the office every day, or work in the office on certain days at their discretion. However, management may require our associates to work from Independence’s physical office locations on certain occasions. This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid of Choice” model. While associates may work remotely, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
