The Manager Information Technology Operations will be responsible for overseeing the performance and availability of enterprise business applications and services across the organization. Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring approach to IT systems are monitored, maintained, and optimized. Lead and mentor a team of IT Operations specialists who will assist you in your tasks.

Responsibilities

·       Oversee the installation, configuration maintenance of software tools used for performance and availability monitoring and alerting, such as SiteScope, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.

·       Overseeing the daily operations of the IT department and ensuring that systems and networks are running smoothly.

·       Collaborate with other leaders within the Development and Infrastructure teams to:

§  Deploy and maintain performance monitoring agents and scripts for various applications and services.

§   Identify and resolve issues impacting business service performance or availability, using root cause analysis, troubleshooting and escalation techniques.

§  Maintain an accurate and comprehensive database of IT configuration items, using tools such as CMDB (configuration management database), ServiceNow, etc.

·       Maintain a strong understanding of the organization's business needs and working closely with other departments to ensure that IT is aligned with those needs.

·       Evaluating and implementing new technologies and systems that improve IT infrastructure monitoring and support the organization's business goals.

·       Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and processes to improve performance and increase efficiency and productivity.

·       Assess system performance and recommend improvements.

·       Provide leadership and guidance to a team of IT Operations specialists, including setting goals, assigning tasks, providing feedback and coaching.

·       Report on the status and performance of IT systems and services, using metrics, dashboards, reports, and presentations.

·       Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in IT Operations and performance management.

Qualifications:

Education

·       BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent knowledge acquired via work experience or other training.

Experience

·       At least five years of related IT work experience with system management tools and/or application development.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities        

 

·       Working knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems, networks, and databases.

·       Strong analytical skills, effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.

·       Experience with leading and managing IT teams and projects.
