Provide the clinical subject matter expert support for the organizational strategy to provide integrated pharmacy and medical solutions to promote pharmacy account sales and retention.
- Collaborate with client manager to provide clinical aspects of client plan reviews, including initiatives and programs to produce key data for internal and external reporting and decision-making.
- Review data, resolves issues and coordinates tasks associated with self-funded formulary management, utilization management and clinical programs
- Provide proactive clinical recommendations, information regarding pharmacy trend, programs, and industry changes to clients and to foster consultative relationships
- Support development of strategic and consultative presentations of products to customers and prospects. Delivers professional presentations and/or open enrollments (where applicable) to a variety of audiences in various settings.
- Lead clinical pharmacy discussions in sales settings, including finalist presentations, with a focus on client specific data and solutions
- Provide superior clinical consultation with a focus on client satisfaction, securing and retaining clients, and trend management for the pharmacy benefit
- Actively demonstrates comprehensive understanding of products, the competitive environment, and the industry.
- Collaborate with the PBM to identify industry best practices and competitive trends to support new pharmacy product and feature development and refine existing pharmacy products/features.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for clinical implications of the prescription drug benefits and for sales requests for proposals
- Support proactive client communication regarding clinical market intelligence expected to impact trends. and responds to plan-specific clinical inquiries
- Collaborates with medical specialty to provide integrated management of the client’s overall trends
- Supports Request for Proposal responses for the pharmacy business
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy plus 5 years of relevant clinical experience
- Active PA State Pharmacy License
- At least 5 years of experience in a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) or managed care setting
- Current knowledge and expertise in clinical pharmacology, disease management and managed care
- Experience with team-based care
- Able to review large data sets, synthesize, identify trends/themes to make recommendations and drive business decisions
- Strong communication (written and verbal), analytical and presentation skills
- Must be able to work independently in a collaborative environment, be self-directed and possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and data visualization (PowerPoint, Excel graphs, Tableau, etc)
- Advanced drug information skills
