Senior Research Analyst
The Informatics division of Independence uses information technology to drive healthcare strategy and innovation. This position provides an opportunity to utilize a comprehensive healthcare data warehouse to provide reporting and analytics to internal and external customers to support healthcare management, wellness initiatives, and financial reporting to retain and gain customer business.
This position reports to the Manager, Customer Reporting & Analytics in the Informatics department.
Major Responsibilities
· Engage in a consultative partnership between Sales, Underwriting, Care Management, Business Technology Solutions and other Informatics teams to understand the business needs and provide reporting solutions that facilitate actionable decisions
· Develop ad hoc reporting using Google Cloud Platform, SQL and SSRS in response to requests from external customers and brokers, and from Sales, Underwriting, and other internal business partners
· Summarize, interpret, and present results in a clear, concise manner for internal and external customers
· Ensure that all recurring and ad hoc reports conform to requirements and reconcile to designated sources
· Respond to business partner inquiries regarding Index Reporting platform and standard reports
· Navigate Service Now to manage workload of incoming requests from business areas
· Develop strong knowledge of medical and pharmacy claims, membership and enrollment, product, authorization, outreach and engagement, and other subject areas to support requests and initiatives
· Create report subscriptions
· Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on new reports or report enhancements
Knowledge, Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, public health, health care, statistics, computer science, mathematics or related quantitative area
Experience
· At least 4 years’ experience in the health care or health insurance industry
· Advanced experience utilizing SQL / SSRS / Google Big Query to analyze large datasets
· Demonstrate technical experience and data management skills including data extraction, data scrubbing and data transformation with emphasis on the ability to perform QA and reasonableness checks
· Ability to analyze data and develop reports in a clear, concise way for users to understand
· Advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
· Experience engaging directly with business leaders and executives
· Independently motivated to drive projects forward
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
Hybrid
Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
