Senior Tax Accountant
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MS in Taxation is a plus).
- CPA or currently pursuing a CPA.
- 4+ years’ experience in Big 4 Public Accounting or a large corporate tax department.
- Strong experience with provisions is required.
- Strong experience with state and local income tax.
- Experience applying the principles of ASC 740, 740‑10, and related controls.
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Provision and/or other tax‑related software.
- Experience with SAP Fixed Asset Software and/or similar tools.
- Understanding of GAAP and statutory tax accounting guidelines and provisions.
- Solid working knowledge of tax accounting concepts, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in varied situations.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and modify complex formulas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Results‑driven work ethic with a willingness to assist where needed.
Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.
