DESCRIPTION |
Job Summary: • Assist with GAAP provision calculations, data gathering, reporting and disclosure. • Assist with SSAP 101 provision calculations, data gathering, reporting and disclosure. • Support the GAAP and STAT tax accounting process. • Assist with the preparation of federal, state and local corporate tax returns, quarterly estimates and extensions. • Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects. • Liaise with external auditors to provide support. • Support IRS and state audit-responses. • Maintain technical proficiency through approved continuing education courses. • Ensures Tax Compliance. • Assist the Director of Tax and the Tax Managers with tax duties as well as other duties that are performed within the department. |
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS |
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (MS in Taxation is a plus) • CPA or pursuing a CPA. • 4+ Years’ Experience in Big 4 Public Accounting or Large Corporation Tax Department. • Strong experience with provisions is required. • Strong experience with state and local income tax. • Experience applying the principles of ASC 740, 740-10 and controls. •Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Provision and/or other tax related software. •Experience with Sage Fixed Asset Software and/or other tax related software. •Understanding of GAAP and Statutory tax accounting guidelines and provisions. •Firm working knowledge of tax accounting as well as general accounting concepts, practices, and procedures and the ability to apply such knowledge in varied situations. •Ability to organize, self-prioritize, and be a self-starter in a dynamic, extremely fast-paced environment with demanding internal and external deadlines. This role often requires the individual to work in a team environment, but, also able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision. •Strong Excel skills and the ability to create and/or modify complex formulas and have proficiency with all other Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, etc.). •Possess a results-driven work ethic with a willingness to help wherever needed. |
