Job Summary: 

The Specialty Services Product Implementation & Operations Manager will manage important initiatives for the Dental and Vision lines of business from the perspective of:

  • Leading the implementation of product launches, enhancements, and maintenance for product offerings in the Large Group (non-Affordable Care Act) segments within the Independence Blue Cross Family of Companies (“IBX FOC”)
  • Manage operational strategy, including process improvement, identification and implementation of platform investments
  • Manage annual audits on benefit configuration and administration to ensure plan IDs and benefits are setup correctly with our Dental and Vision vendors, Benefit highlight, etc.
  • Communicate with our external vendor-partners for successful dental and vision product delivery and response to audit needs.
  • Represent Specialty Services Dental & Vision with various departments across the Independence Blue Cross Family of Companies (“IBX FOC”) including Sales, Client Setup, BTS, Customer Service, Product Admin, and others.

Significant Job Duties:

  • Develop & manage operational strategy.  Duties include:
    • Identify operational inefficiencies and issues and perform root cause analysis, leading stakeholders including IHG operations departments (i.e., Client Set Up, BTS, Customer Service, Product Operations, etc.), and vendor-partners.
    • Develop and recommend solutions, leading solution implementation across the IBX FOC and with external vendors.
    • Identify investment opportunities including platform enhancements and lead the process to secure funding.
    • Monitor cost, schedule, risk, compliance and technical/process performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program.
  • Manage operations and implementation of Dental and Vision products, including launches, enhancements and maintenance, for Large Group products.  Duties include:
    • Project manage the filing and implementation process.
    • Provide support with the evaluations of product lines and recommend improvement in benefit design, and product administration.
    • Recommend process for cross functional implementation to support new or modified products.
    • Manage and maintain Product Configurator Models and Benefit Highlights. Responsible for working with Product Admin to get all large group vision and dental plans keyed into Product Configurator.
    • Lead relationship with Legal and providing subject matter expertise for development of accurate filings, assess whether filings are accurate, approve and provide final sign-off from Specialty Product department of filings.
    • Lead relationship and communication with vendor/partners to ensure accurate plan administration.
  • Provide secondary project management support and backfill support for Consumer and Small group operational support.
  • Lead internal and external audit requests which includes working with corporate audit departments to understand requirements, communicate requirements to vendor/partners, and coordinating with vendor/partners to obtain and QA needed data.

Job Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in analytical major

·        8+ years’ work experience in areas such as benefits administration and health care management, or analytical field

·        Demonstrated experience working on a fast-paced, deadline driven team

·        Excellent communication and socialization skills

·        Excellent interpersonal skills, to include influencing others and negotiation

·        Experience in innovative problem solving

·        Strong relationship building skills

·        Problem-solver and self-starter

·        Strong attention to detail

·        Passion and energy for driving and supporting change

·        Ability to coordinate multiple and varied initiatives and activities simultaneously

Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania
