Summer Intern - Broker Experience
Job Description:
This rotational sales internship position is designed to provide a wholistic training approach to the sales channel, with a focus on customer-facing interaction, the annual sales lifecycle, middle and back-office integration, and functionality, to provide expert guidance and a consultative approach to Independence customers and external business partners. In addition, this role will cross-train associate on various broker partnerships, analyzing and interpreting data, designed to manage various communication and supplemental plans that coincide with Annual Operating Plan.
Broker Experience:

Ability to analyze and interpret data efficiently and in a cross-functional capacity to manage client and broker data hierarchy.

Development of reporting and analytical tools specific to the broker distribution channel with a primary focus on annual new business forecasting, retention, and ancillary sale opportunities.

Operationalize multiple projects; and build a more robust User Interface for external partners.

Work with sales executives to ensure that business needs are clearly defined and achieved by using a team-oriented approach to process implementation and internal communication strategies.

Act as a liaison for Sales and Marketing on various organizational projects to ensure that the go-to market strategy and communication plan is coordinated between internal business units.

Forecasting the annual performance of the distribution channel to be more aligned with organizational Annual Operating Plan.

Collaborate with Product Development Managers to identify opportunities for business diversification.

Sales Segment 1; Sales Segment 2:

Collaborate with General/Producing Agencies within the distribution channel to deliver quality service solutions and ongoing account management for existing book of business and new prospective customers.

Promote and create a more robust client/agency support model by opening lines of communication, demonstrating accountability, and follow through to resolution to all service inquiries.

Evaluate sale opportunities based on business type and size; and create marketing plans consistent with organizational growth objectives and to deliver on the core value proposition.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
