College Co-op – Cash Application Analyst (MJ)
About the Department:
The Cash Application team is responsible for accurately applying both premium and non-premium payments, including the reconciliation of all funds received. This function is essential to maintaining financial integrity and supporting the broader goals of the Finance Division.
Co-op Job Description:
The co-op will support the Cash Application team through a combination of recurring responsibilities and ad-hoc projects. Tasks may be deadline-driven or require same-day completion. A key assignment will involve conducting trend analysis to help reduce unnecessary inquiries, culminating in a presentation of findings and recommendations to business partners.
Key responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Processing and reconciling payments
- Supporting daily operations and generating reports
- Conducting research and analysis on payment trends
- Preparing and delivering presentations to internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with team members and cross-functional partners
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and within a team environment
· Comfort communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization
Accepted Majors:
- Accounting – Directly relevant to cash application, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Finance – Strong foundation in financial systems, reconciliation, and payment processing
- Business
- Business Administration – Must have a concentration in Finance or Accounting
- Management Information Systems (MIS) – Must understand financial systems and data analysis
- Economics – Analytical skills and understanding of financial flows and trends
Operations Management – Relevant for process improvement and workflow optimization
- Business Administration – Must have a concentration in Finance or Accounting
Classification:
· Junior
· Senior
· Recent Graduate within one year or less of the programs start date
GPA Requirement:
· 3.1 or higher
