Summer Intern - Corporate Communications
Job Description:
The Corporate Communications Summer Intern will support strategic communication initiatives that advance departmental goals. This role offers hands-on experience in contributing to executive communications initiatives.
The intern will have the opportunity to:
- Assist with the creation of communication plans and strategic messaging.
- Drafting media alerts and/or press releases, creating media lists, developing media pitches, and media monitoring.
- Writing social media posts and crafting social media plans.
- Assisting with varied other writing and editing tasks, including audience-specific publications and executive briefings.
- Conducting research to help the Corporate Communications team members with projects.
- helping with photo shoots, video shoots, special event planning and coordination; and more.
Assignments will depend on the strengths, skills, and interests of the intern.
Qualifications:
Good writing and communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Basic understanding of common public relations activities and terms
Proficiency in basic Microsoft programs like Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
A self-starter and have the ability to take initiative and work independently, but also have the maturity and ability to work as part of a team.
Digital/social media experience is a plus.
Preferred Majors:
Public Relations; Communications; Journalism; Marketing; Social Media
